Nascar Nationwide Series News and Notes

Hamlin worked hard for the win in the Nationwide this past weekend. It was sunny in Kansas and the gold ole boys had a fun race. A few nudges but a gentleman's race.

Carl Edwards finished 4th putting him in 2nd position for the Nascar Nationwide Series 2008 Championship but Clint Bowyer raced to win and finished second. Clint remains in the lead of Nationwide's smaller chase. :-)

And, it will be great to see at least 2 Quebecers in the last 7 races. Both Andrew Ranger and Patrick Carpentier have a ride for the home-straight. Way to go boyz.

Wouldn't be surprised if by the end of this year there aren't at least 3 Quebecers in a field of 5 Canadians. Maybe even 6 Canucks in a race or two.

Wishful thinking is the purest form of visualisation. lol

Have a good one boyz!

Great job Carl Edwards in Nascar Nationwide race in Richmond! Although the race was postponed due to Hannah passing through...It was a great race for many doing double-duty this weekend.

Andrew Ranger did his best and was able to finish the race albeit 15 laps behind lead lap for a respectable 33. :-)

Andrew was doing double-duty Canadian Tire and Nationwide series. He finished 12th in the Canadian Tire race on Friday.

Wasn't a good week for him so it can only get better. :-)

And, Nationwide is finally testing their COT and she's beautiful in black.

It will be another great Nationwide race this weekend. The boyz will be racing in Richmond and again, many Sprint Cup drivers will be pulling double-duty, including a few important Chasers. :-)

Joining them will be Andrew Ranger who'll be doing his own double-duty. Friday night at Richmond and then Saturday Sept. 6, he'll be racing the Canadian Tires Series race in Barrie Ontario along with fellow Canuck, Kennington.

Go Andrew!

And, Richard Childress's grandson Austin Dillon will make his Nationwide debut in Richmond. Austin is 18 but nowadays in Nascar, they seem to be ripe for racing Nascar.

Logano, another 18 year old has done so well in his rookie year that he's got a ride in Sprint Cup Series for 2009. Another Kyle? Haven't seen any wild-side on Joey yet but hey, it took Kyle a second year to go full throttle all the time. lol

Personally, it's great to see young and older racing at the same levels. Where some have guts and no fear, others have the 'smarts' and experience. The kids burn rubber and the wiser do back flips or humble victory laps. Either way, it's a great great show.
